As the chair-elect, Terpenny will serve under Clemson University’s Cole Smith, this year’s CIEADH chair. Following the 2017-18 term, Terpenny will assume the role of overall chair for the 2018-19 council.
"I’m humbled and honored to have the endorsement and trust of department heads/chairs from around the country. I look forward to learning much from current and past CIEADH chairs and working with the entire community as we collaborate and lead the future direction of the council,” Terpenny said.
As chair, Terpenny will serve as CIEADH’s chief administrative officer, directing the council and managing its growth and execution within the IISE. She will be responsible for overseeing the department heads and leaders of industrial engineering programs across the country, leading and organizing two annual CIEADH meetings and appointing important positions within the council during her time as chair.
The election took place between from March 10-17. The entire council was invited to vote electronically. All votes were cast by secret ballot.
Formerly the Joseph Walkup Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Iowa State University, Terpenny came to Penn State in September of 2015 to assume the role of department head.
